Our Story
JobHunting.co.za was founded in 2019 by a team of South African professionals who had each experienced first-hand how fragmented and frustrating the job search process was in this country. Job listings were scattered across dozens of sites, many were outdated, and the advice available rarely reflected the realities of the South African labour market.
We started small — just a curated newsletter for IT professionals in Gauteng, sent to 200 subscribers. Within eight months, that list had grown to 40,000 subscribers across multiple industries and all nine provinces. The demand was undeniable.
By 2021, we launched the full platform with real-time job aggregation, employer direct listings, and a growing library of career resources tailored to South African conditions — including BEE context, SETA accreditation, SAQA requirements, and the nuances of local labour law.
Today, we are one of South Africa's most-visited job platforms, trusted by hundreds of thousands of job seekers every month and by over 3,000 employers ranging from government departments and parastatals to some of the JSE's largest listed companies and fast-growing startups in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban.
We remain proudly South African and independent — our only goal is to help every South African find meaningful work.
